Hi, my name is Aury and this is my blog :3

On May 19th, OpenBSD 7.9 was released and, to my surprise, is now accepting AI generated slop since it’s release.

This notice really got me upset because OpenBSD wasn’t on my mental list of software which would accept this sort of shit because of it’s security and simplicity philosophy. OpenBSD was my first advice that we can’t bet that some will still remains in it’s essence.

At this point, protest against slop is the best we can do. There is so many ways we can do that: forking and maintaining a version without slop; creating an alternative to it; boycotting slop softwares by using software without slop; and etc.

A few days ago I discovered a repository on codeberg with tons of famous projects which contains slops - and alternatives to them - and this repository is a good spot to discover which softwares are slop and to find alternatives to it if possible.

I will still on OpenBSD 7.8 and I’ll try to maintain a fork of this version with some modifications - like removing pre-installed slop softwares. If I really do that, you may find the project here.

With my disappointment, I end this article.

Android is not open anymore

As you read in the title: Android is not open anymore.

The first thing you might think is that the Android is open source because Google is your friend and love the idea of opening the source code of a whole operating system they made to fight with another big corporation. And yes, it is open source, but not because Google is your friend.

Sometimes ago I was reading some articles about Android 17 and most posts I’ve read were saying that Google will block .apk's installed outside Play Store from Google verified Android versions. Plus, you’ll still can download world wide .apk’s but only if the creator of that .apk is also verified by Google.

I think the point here is not security, Play Protect is so far not really secure. There is a lot of malware, spyware and much more occurrences coming from Play Store applications “verified” by the Play Protect. You should really not trust on what Google says to you.

This lack of freedom coming from Android isn’t a new thing, if you try to use AOSP, without GApps or modified versions of it, you will not be able to use your phone normally(at least as a primary device). Bank apps will not work, government craps will not work and a lot of stuffs will not work anymore. And you don’t even need to use a pure or a non-verified version of android to notice that, you just need to activate developer options to see some government apps and bank apps stop working.

Android is day after day more and more closed, more and more burocratic, more and more invasive and less and less private. I really don’t know what I can personally do about this except being sad. I’m really disappointed with what Google is doing with Android.

Blind and Lost

For a long time I’ve been thinking about who am I on the politic spectre, but while I’ve been thinking about this, I’ve also been trying to fit somewhere. I have a strength empathy for ethnic minorities, but I’ve never support everything about authoritarian socialist stuff, so I moved on to libertarian left, it was almost perfect for me, but something was still pissing me off. I’ve even tried agorism and anarcho capitalism but I also didn’t fit on these. So I realize I don’t fit anywhere, and I don’t need to.

A few days ago I got me thinking excessively about political ideologies and how it just make the population fight itself trying to defend imperfect and utopic ideologies pretending do something while nobody even try to solve the real problem. It’s weird how we grow up thinking everyone must have a team, and you can’t disagree with nothing. And it gets more weird when you try to disagree and get knocked out being treated like enemy.

It seems like nobody is open to listen to each other. People forgot we all have different thoughts, even when they are dumb for you, still a human with their own thoughts, and you don’t need to sacrifice them for this, even if they want to sacrifice you. You are also always thinking about killing oppositor, so why they couldn’t think the same?

I think the only way to everyone respect laws is with dictatorship, but this don’t change peoples mind, it just make them more angry causing more revolt.

You can say I’m a hipocrate, and well… I’ll agree with you because, as any other human, I really am, and it’s okay, nobody is fully coherent, we can’t answer every question of the universe, we can’t determine the right thing to do if it’s a subjective thing, but as always, you can still suggest answers and listen to other people answer!

I’ve talk about this with my friend Thaís and I thought it was a good topic for this month article :3

AI "power and efficiency" on coding is bullshit

I’m very new to programming, I started on the end of 2024 with a JS/TS course and, in 2025, I got the start of “AI boom” in a way that I also got inserted to “Vibe coding” until it even becomes a popular term. It took 5 months until I realize AI were garbage and my experience with it gave me reasons to hate it. But in the other hand, it got me sequels of using that.

They sell mainly “productivity” using AI, but on these 5 months, just made 1 right thing between 10 errors, and in my personal vision, that’s certainly NOT productivity, instead seems more like a waste of a time that you could use just to really fix the problem you are dealing with.

You can even(and probably will) argue that I don’t know how to use AI the “right way”. In case, most of AI users says that you need to teach AIs how your code works and blah blah, but why I need to teach a dumb algorithm that, in theory, should know how to code? So, instead of learning how to fix the fucking problem and never suffer with it again, the really fast thing to do is learn how to make an AI(SUPPOSED TO KNOW WELL HOW TO CODE AND FIX PROBLEMS) how to try to fix the problem? Yeah, AI industries really want to make us think that way, and a LOT of people just accept that as the truth and avoids the critical an the logical thinking. Like said Drew DeVault, I don’t think it’s cute claude code build a “cool” website full vibe coded with a lot of eye-candle weird effects. Actually that’s just sad to see, a generation of developers that doesn’t even read codes an trust on a dumb machine that lies.

And about the problems I’ve gotten with AI, they include: emotional dependence, loneliness, social anxiety and of course, lazyness. It fucked up with most of my knowledge and a lot of more stuffs. Yes, AI has it’s importance on science, but now days, only on science. AI is not good for our mental health. I really recommend you to NOT talk naturally to AI’s and even better, totally avoid the use of AI. Avoid these stupid craps that slowly kills your sanity.

C Programming Language

If you have read my “about me” page, you should know that I’m a Rust developer and NEVER used C my entire life.

Yesterday, I was playing with my dog while overthinking and, somehow, I though that interactive calculator were garbage. So why not make my own argument-based calculator?

When I had this idea, I knew that using Rust would be overkill and would not make sense, so I decided to do it in C using man-pages and the knowledge that I’ve received from a good friend! (He reviewed my code by the way, lmao)

It’s not the most performatic thing but it’s all I can do as a C newbie developer. And to be honest, C is more interesting than Rust because it’s more simple, but more powerfull without even use a lot of Traits, Impls or any Rust bullshit.

Certainly, it was the better experience I’ve ever had with programming after 7 month only using Rust and suffering with it.
